These are great towbars. And expensive - new cost is over $500. You'll have to get a bracket for your toad.

It mounts directly in the hitch receiver. It also folds up and out of the way, so you can leave it in the hitch receiver, if you want.

I was always afraid it would get lifted, plus I was concerned it might rust up in the rain - so I never left it mounted.

Somewhere onboard is a Lo-Jack system (they won't let you watch them install it - it's in some super-secret location.) I had it installed in San Diego because I've had two vehicles stolen in San Diego and I was paranoid about losing this and all the stuff inside (computers, camera equipment, etc.)

Now that I'm in Mesquite, Nevada/St. George, Utah, it's been less of an issue, so I haven't kept it up. You should be able to contact Lo-Jack and get them the VIN to determine if it is active. If not, they should be able to re-activate it.
